African art and masks of the Dan. This mask is hand carved of wood by the Dan people. It features a beard of raffia, and a full headdress of raffia, burlap, and cowrie shells. The wooden part of the mask (not including headdress of beard) is 9 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide.
