The Babanki people live in the grassland of
northwest Cameroon, near the Bamileke, Bamum, and Kom peoples.
Artistically, they are perhaps best known for their stylized
elephant masks. They share the tradition of
elephant masks with their neighbors, the Bamileke people, though
Bamileke elephant masks are usually made of fabric and adorned with glass
beads. These masks are the more typical Babanki style,
