Babanki Art and Masks |
| ||||
|
The Babanki people live in the grassland of northwest Cameroon, near the Bamileke, Bamum, and Kom peoples. Artistically, they are perhaps best known for their stylized elephant masks. They share the tradition of elephant masks with their neighbors, the Bamileke people, though Bamileke elephant masks are usually made of fabric and adorned with glass beads. These masks are the more typical Babanki style.
